Darcey started riding when she was nine-years-old and quickly took up jumping, regularly attending local shows with her 12.2hh pony Midnight Jack. They were a formidable pair winning many classes as Jack was so fast. Har next pony was 13.2hh Finnegan III, a cuddly Appaloosa with whom Darcey quickly gelled. She jumped for hte Pony Club teams and began her affileated career with him, winning the 70cm Localrider Regional League in 2006.
Then came Darcey's 14.2hh pony called Chester. He had not won any money BSJA and at first Darcey found him very strong and feisty. She spent many hours working iwth him and her trainer (dad) Keith Tollick (Chessington Equestrian Centre). Chester's show name became "Bojangles Bear" and ever since the pair havegone from stranght to strenght winning many many Affiliated prizes. They have won the 80cm, 90cm and 1m Localrider BSJA regional league tables over the past two years and during the summer wonthe 90cm amateur junior championship at Wales and West.
They have qualified for and jumped at Scope for the last two years gaining second place in the Progressive and Foxhunter classes this year and recently won the Blue Chip Coral qualifier and were second in the Bleu Chip JC/JA qualifier.
2010 is Darcey's last year in ponies and her ambition is to achieve grade A status for Bojangles Bear, qualify him for HOYS and continue successfully to bring on her new fabulous four-year-old pony 'Newline Misty Owen' through the BSJA ranks.
