Steve Banting, B.H.S.I.I.

Manager / Senior Riding Instructor

I have been riding since I was 6 years old and, being the son of a farmer, it was easy for me to have my own pony.  I was a member of The Pony Club till my late teens, taking part in lots of activities including Cross Country and Tetrathlon (riding cross country, swimming, running and shooting).

I trained for my Assistant Instructors Exam in 1977-78 and my Intermediate Instructors Exam in 1980.

From 1979 to 1987, I worked as an Instructor and progressed on to help set up Riding Schools for other people.

I started working at Chessington Equestrian Centre in the spring of 1988 to help get the riding school side of the business up and running.  I enjoyed it so much. I am still here 20 years later!

I love seeing people progressing, enjoying their riding and just being around horses.
